Do you have technical questions? Then Sinan is your man. This knowledgeable and friendly colleague is quite technically savvy and always helps our users with a smile. Despite being at Grexx for only six months, Sinan has already found his place and excels in his role.

"I think it's important to keep learning new things. It doesn't matter if it's in breadth or depth, as long as there is movement. I really need that challenge. And I get energy from success, whether it's my own or that of my colleagues. I am always proud when we have taken another new step." 

Social type

"There are two things I really like about my work as a software support engineer. I need a challenge and I really want to keep learning new things. And in addition, I have learned over the past few months that I really enjoy customer contact. I am regularly on the phone with users, and I like that. I'm a social type. I just enjoy talking to people and listening to them, and working together to see if we can solve a problem."

Sinan therefore faces an immediate dilemma when asked about his plans because he desires to explore new areas of development expertise. "DevOps, I find interesting, but I want to keep customer contact. Maybe I should think about senior support then, or support consultancy or something. But for now, I'm fine, I find enough challenge in the Grexx platform. I do notice that it is quite a steep learning curve: I can now work well independently with partners, even though I have only known the platform for 5 months. I've really learned a lot recently. But there is definitely still a lot of things I want to delve into."

Always helpful

As a software support engineer, Sinan spends much of his day working on partner tickets and making sure that the SLAs we have in place are followed accurately. He identifies technical problems and threats and helps think about improvements in customer support and software development. 

Sinan is very helpful, which benefits not only our partners, but certainly our colleagues as well! Our CTO Bart says: "Sinan, somehow, without saying so very specifically, made it immediately clear that you can always ask him for help. Colleagues know how to find him well with technical questions. He has quickly mastered the Grexx platform and the other tech we use and really takes initiative in that regard. For example, he suggested that we take on workplace management within Grexx. We didn't really have a permanent person for that. Because we have so many technicians together, everything was just taken care of, but it was an afterthought for everyone. Of course, it's much nicer if someone takes responsibility for that. So that's what Sinan is doing now, and we're happy with that!"

Conviviality

We try as much as possible as a team to be in the office at least on Tuesdays and Thursdays, the other days everyone fills in themselves. On office days, Sinan is always there: "It's very pleasant at the office, we have a nice team. We laugh a lot and the bonds between us are good. We have lunch together, followed by a standard game of table tennis or a walk. Yes, it’s fun. I always enjoy going to the office."

Private life.

Sinan lives in Amersfoort with his wife and their two-year-old son. Besides his work at Grexx, he runs his own business in website design and development, which he also enjoys doing. For his wife, Sinan has created a web shop through which they sell jewelry. But actually, in his free time he is mostly a dad: weekends are filled with playing together and doing fun things.
